Digital FAQs
I have a film camera, should I switch to digital?
Although it is completely up to you personal preference, digital does offer a variety of things that a film camera does not. Many people feel that having the option to view pictures right after they have been taken a great way to save on the cost of printing bad pictures that will be thrown away. Digital allows you to save your pictures to a disk and transfer them to your computer when you can Photoshop them to your liking. Digital may cost more as it is a newer technology; however, I feel like it is worth it.
I scuba dive a lot and would like to take pictures, but don’t want to hold a camera as I like to keep my hands free, any suggestions?
I suggest that you invest in a camera that you can attach to your gear. Many consumers are finding that cameras attached to a band they wear on their head is a great way to capture all of the footage they witness during their dive. This may not be the best option for taking snap photos; however, it will video capture an experience.
Are there more appropriate lenses for landscape pictures than others?
Yes, there is a lens that will better capture an outdoor landscape better than some. When taking pictures of a landscape, it is often very wide, and a normal lens will cut off half of the picture. I suggest investing in a wide angle lens to prevent this from happening. Also make sure that a high number of pixels are used to capture the detail of the space.
